Why is embroidery still so hard for beginners?

For most beginners, the hard part starts long before the first stitch. Traditional machines assume you already know digitizing, stitch settings and file prep — so a fun idea, a cap, a patch or a gift, turns into hours of trial and error. Plenty of people give up before they ever finish one piece.

We didn't set out to build just another embroidery machine — we set out to remove that barrier, with a complete workflow from image to design, online editing to direct upload, first stitch to finished product. It's backed by years of engineering and manufacturing single-head multi-needle machines, so the hardware and software hold a professional standard — yet stay simple enough that a first-timer can get a clean result on day one.

When will the Kickstarter campaign launch?

Is the EmbNova S1 a brand-new product?

It’s our second generation. Our first-generation machine is already in makers’ hands, and the S1 is its upgrade — refined for this Kickstarter with a sturdier thread stand, an LED needle-position marker with trace-outline positioning, and an all-new, free EmbNova Studio software. You’re backing a proven platform, not a prototype.

What is included in the launch bundle?

Both launch bundles include the S1 machine, starter consumables, EmbNova Studio core tools, warranty coverage and online support. The Professional Bundle adds the cap system, extra hoops, clamps and a larger consumables pack.

Is the $50 deposit refundable?

Yes. The $50 reservation is fully refundable until redeemed. It is redeemed only after the campaign ends successfully and a matching pledge is collected. If you do not back, cancel under Kickstarter's live-campaign rules, or the campaign does not launch or fund successfully, the $50 is refunded in full.

Does the deposit count toward the final purchase?

Yes. After a successful campaign and collected matching pledge, the $50 is applied separately toward your purchase. It is not part of the $349 VIP benefit total, which consists of $300 cashback plus a $49 materials pack.

How does the positioning preview work?

Before stitching begins, the machine moves the hoop along the design outline. The LED indicates the current needle position as the outline is traced, allowing you to check where the design will land and whether it fits the intended area.

Does S1 change thread colors automatically?

No. S1 uses a single-needle workflow, and multi-color designs require manual thread-color changes. The single thread path is designed to be easier to learn, maintain and troubleshoot.

What materials can EmbNova S1 embroider on?

S1 is designed for finished-product embroidery including caps, hoodies, tees, totes, towels, aprons, patches and selected shoes or accessories with the right hoop or clamp.

What file formats are supported?

The machine workflow is built around embroidery-ready .DST files, with USB import, online import, stitch preview and on-screen operation.

What software is included?

EmbNova Studio core design tools are included for creating, editing, previewing and exporting designs. The Professional Bundle includes one year of EmbNova Studio Premium.

What support will backers receive?

Launch backers receive setup guidance, technical support with 24-hour response, warranty coverage and workflow help for threading, tension, hoops and software.

What is the estimated shipping timeline?
